Applying SILVADUR™ Antimicrobial Technology

Application Methods & Instructions

Read through instructions on how SILVADUR™ 900 and SILVADUR™ 961 are applied through exhausting and padding.

EXHAUSTING

SILVADUR™ 900 and SILVADUR™ 961

SILVADUR™ 900 (ET) and SILVADUR™ 961 (AQ) can be exhaust applied using most industry standard equipment. It is highly recommended that SILVADUR™ is applied as the final step in the textile finishing process. Complete rinsing and neutralization of fabric prior to the addition of SILVADUR™ is required in order to achieve the highest durability of the final cured silver-polymer system.

Application levels:

Apply SILVADUR™ 900 (ET) at levels between 0.033% and 0.17% based on the weight of the goods. This will provide silver loading levels between 10 and 50 ppm.

Apply SILVADUR™ 961 (AQ) at levels between 0.05% and 0.25% based on the weight of the goods. This will provide silver loading levels between 10 and 50 ppm.

PADDING

SILVADUR™ 900 and SILVADUR™ 961

SILVADUR™ 900 (ET) and SILVADUR™ 961 (AQ) can be pad applied using most industry standard conditions and in combination with multiple other textile additives, including, but not limited to, optical brighteners, softeners and wicking agents. If co-application of SILVADUR™ and auxiliary functional agents is required, compatibility of the pad application solution should be determined in the laboratory prior to production trial. It is highly recommended that SILVADUR™ be applied as the final step in the textile finishing process. Complete rinsing and neutralization of fabric prior to the addition of SILVADUR™ is required in order to achieve the highest durability of the final curedsilver-polymer system.
